  • Speaker Bio: Amber Whisenhunt is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Northeastern State University (NSU). She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Accounting and is currently working on a DBA. Her research interests focus on the convergence of strategy, innovation, and accountant decision-making. Amber has been the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Coordinator at NSU since the Spring of 2019, and under her guidance students and volunteers have prepared over 875 returns for lower income taxpayers. Amber has had the opportunity to teach the entire accounting core and many of the accounting electives since joining NSU, but her favorite teaching topics will always be cost and tax accounting. Her previous accounting work experience includes The Williams Companies Federal & State Tax Department and Assistant Professor at The University of Akron.

CPE Credits are based on a 50-minute hour. State boards of accounting have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Attendee accepts responsibility to determine if course meets acceptable guidelines set forth by their reporting authority.
